Making non-bake Oreo cheesecake!

Recipe I found from this website.

Some little changes I made:

  • Used Oreos for crust instead of Graham crackers (ie digestive biscuits).
  • Omitted sugar for the crust.
  • Reduced a bit the amount of sugar required for cake content.
  • Omitted vanilla powder as well.

Things you're going to need:

  • Mixer
  • Crusher (no idea what it's called lol)
  • Spatula (you can use a spoon too actually)
  • Measurement cup
  • Frying pan
  • Paper cups/cupcake cups (if you're planning to make them like that)
  • All the ingredients listed in the recipe!

Got my rubber spatula, measurement cup and paper cups (1 pack 12 cups, I got 2 packets cos I wanted 2 colours lol) from Mr. DIY for RM2.90, RM1.80, and RM1.80 each respectively!

It's so simple that a first-timer like me could get it right hahahahahaha.

Actually you just have to follow the instructions in the recipe and you'll be fine. But I panicked a bit when I was beating the whipped cream cos it didn't form any peak. =_____= But all was well in the end.

Step 1: prepare your crushed biscuits of your choice for the crust & content (must be Oreo for content duh).

for the crust!

just 7 pieces of Oreos for the content. (according to my measurement cup, it's 1/2 a cup already lol.)

tear them into smaller pieces first to make your life crushing them easier.

obviously i didn't crush them to tiny bits like what i did to them for the crust cos i wanted their presence felt in the content of cheesecake hahaha.

Step 2: get started! Melt butter with small fire. (mum did this obviously am not touching any oil-related work hahahaha.)

i think mum wanted to faint at this stage cos the butter all melted and was smelling so good. (she hates butter and cheese.)

Step 3: pour melted butter into crushed biscuits for crust!

made mum pour the butter and i took this photo hahahahaha.

mix them well. (at this point i kept telling mum they look like lao sai/mud sigh.)

Actually I was debating hard with myself whether to make a whole cake or split them into cups. In the end I decided on cups because it'd be easier and Fei (I know he's super lazy he doesn't even wanna cook noodles cos he doesn't wanna wash the pots and bowls after cooking what logic is that???) being the usual lazy him would probably be too lazy to cut the cake. =_____= Mum agreed and said Fei could just throw away the cups after eating up the contents so okay cups were it!

so i split the crust into cups! so kiut right all my cups! pretty colours right hahahaha.

But I did one step wrong, I refrigerated them. :(

they ended up like this. sigh next time cannot make this mistake anymore. BUT it's still edible la!!! T________T

Step 4: start beating whipped cream!

sorry ah camera was fucking around with me and didn't wanna let me get this photo.

so i used my phone to take the photo. HAHA.

Set aside first after beating it into medium peak form.

Step 5: start with your content: mix cream cheese, salt, sugar and lemon juice.

mix till smooth!

Step 6: now add the whipped cream into it and mix together!

this is actually your cheese cake already. if you don't want Oreo cheesecake that is.

By the time I finished this step I was on cloud nine cos it tasted exactly like cheese cake hahahaha just in the soft form and not the hard form. And it tasted good! Hahahaha mum was yiak-ing me the whole time. So nais okay!

Step 7: add in your crushed Oreos!! :D

fold them in!

Step 8: put either into baking pan/cups! Refrigerate for 6 hours/overnight! :D :D

ANDDD CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'RE DONE!! :DDDD

Fei's 24th

OHAI FEI!

HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY!!!

Hehehe time flies! :D The first time we celebrated your birthday was in 2008, 7 years ago. D: It's now 2015!!

All our birthday celebrations every year were simple, either only the 2 of us or with friends. Lol. Though I only did once for Fei's 20th birthday (I think) a buddies gathering celebration. So difficult to gather his buddies cos they're all now like separated in different continents. =_____= Okay only one but still, some are working..

So this year I did nothing special hahahahaha just the 2 of us on Fei's day!

Planned where to bring Fei for his birthday during the exam month fml I always always do things irrelevant during that period sigh. And also thought about Fei's birthday present. =_____=

Decided on E&O Hotel's Sarkies buffet since Fei has been pestering me about visiting there for their buffet since forever. =____= Called up to book a table for 2 on the next day after my last paper. Hehe! And then the headache: what to get for Fei.

Getting pressie for Fei is a mafan thing to do... He doesn't use anything at all (???) and all previous years I had to dry up my brain juice to think what to get him. He has a belt, he has a bag, he has a backpack, he has a wallet... He doesn't use any skin care except for the one and only cleanser that he uses. He already has a perfume. Electronic things are too expensive and I can't afford them now considering I have no income for so many months. =____= Fei doesn't use any accessories as well, he already has 2 freaking power banks, he doesn't want any interesting casing for his phone... SEE MY HEADACHE.

Sigh. Anyway, I'll talk about what did I get him later.

So on the day itself we headed to E&O! :D

HELLO! From us in the car hehehehe on the way to E&O!

Didn't really take photos cos I was lazy. Lol. By the way it's the Executive Buffet Lunch we went to. And now it's in Victory Annexe and not Sarkies' anymore.

Asked Fei if he wants me to get a few choices of cakes and then ask for a candle hahaha.

Had this pumpkin soup. I don't likeeeee. But it tasted alright if taken with the bread and butter.

The char koay teow is not bad, and Fei asked why did I order this in a buffet. Cannot meh? He ordered also in the end! Hmph.

Got cheated by the matcha cake!!! T_____T They put yogurt one... tasted like shit to me. D: But the strawberry one was good, and according to Fei, the chocolate one as well.

This Fei told me he took 2 big spoonfuls of corns. WHERE GOT. Bluff me one. Zzz.

Our ice cream. Couldn't believe (still can't actually) a place like E&O would serve such cheap ice cream. And they're half melted already.

Not that satisfied with E&O to be frank for the price they charge us. Nope.

Headed to Paragon after that cos we were watching Ted 2. =_____= Fei was so excited for the movie I don't know why. Ted didn't seem that appealing to me lol. Yes the bear is cute but I just didn't find it interesting, the movie. Since Fei wanted to watch it I shall accompany him on his day. =____= Plus Fei was getting the movie tix hahahaha so fine fine. :P

We also went to Haagen-Dazs after our movie! Fei's first time having Chocolate Fondue and my 2nd time. My first was 7 years ago lol.

So this Fondue treat was like my birthday present to Fei cos I really didn't get him anything hahaha. So I brought him to places he has been longing to visit since forever on his day! :D

We went home after a few more rounds of walking around the mall.

Here comes my pressie to Fei!

Tadah!! :D Non-bake Oreo Cheesecake!! :D :D :D

I did put a Happy Birthday stick in the middle cup though. Didn't get a photo with it cos I forgot. =_____= Lousy me. Hehehe! :D :D

Just a simple celebration spending time together! Wait when I have enough savings I'll bring you around the world okay Fei hahaha. Love you.

Hehe happy boy!

:D

Of survival of the fittest

In this month alone I've watched 3 movies that relate to survival. And learned from them how to survive in these extreme circumstances. Guess which? Lol.

The most obvious one of course, would be San Andreas.

Non-stop earthquake with super scary magnitude of aftershocks? Tsunami triggered by the shifting of the fault lines which resulted in the quakes?

So things I learned and made sure I remember them always (lol I'm paranoid like that. Somemore with the recent quake that hit Sabah...):

During quake, indoors:

  • Find strong cover, eg tables. (not foldable one please lol they're not strong, but if you have no choice I guess it'll do...)
  • Stay under it until the quake is over.
  • Protect your head and the back of your neck.

During quake, outdoors:

  • Find strong buildings and go to the side of it and hang on tight!
  • Cover head, back of neck, eyes.

During quake, stuck in car:

  • Hang on till rescue/help comes, try to make sure the roof of the car doesn't fall on you (by using hands to push against roof) and SHOUT FOR HELP.
During quake, trying to help a victim stuck in car:

  • Try to search for all needed tools from the surrounding AND from the car boot (emergency tools).
  • If the roof of the car is pressing down on the victim and the victim's legs are stuck causing him/her not being able to move out, you'll need to lift the car so that it doesn't stay pressed on victim.
  • Find smaller pieces of stackable broken cements/stones, stack and pile them up. Put the car jack on them and lift the car!
  • If the space is not enough, puncture the tire so the car's height is reduced which will then increase the space needed for victim to move legs with the help of the jack and the stacked stones.

After escaping to the roads outside (which would be chaotic by then) look out for Fire and Rescue engines! Rummage through their tools, get hold of walkie-talkie, and all tools needed. Then head on to electrical appliances shop and get torch lights, laser light etc. If trying to make call, also head to the said place and find land cables (cables connected to credit card terminals are usable) and make your calls. (Cellphones obviously wouldn't be usable, all telecomm lines would be disrupted.)

When tsunami is attacking:

  • Get to the TALLEST AND SAFEST building in the city!
  • Get to the highest floor possible (you never know what's the height of the tsunami attacking).
  • Never let your guard down.
  • Once gotten enough rest, continue on your journey to the higher floors. Up up you go!!
  • If the building threatens to sink under the pressure of the tsunami water, try to leave the building especially if you see rescue boats. The things you got from the electrical appliances come in handy now. Especially the laser thingy. Aim it at the boat to get their attention!
  • ESCAPE.

But all in all, I think having your own cellphone with you is still useful even if call network doesn't work. Our smartphones nowadays have a lot of functions no? Also it'll be good if you have powerbank with you lol wtf. Even better if you have your cable with you.

D: I can't imagine.

And I also saw this 9Gag picture people shared on FB lol. Very useful I must say.

The second movie would be Jurassic World. (Obviously? No?)

Uh, surviving the dinosaurs? Especially T-Rex, or Raptors, or the Indominus Rex (hybrid of all scary shits) that's able to camouflage, hide its own thermal signature (fucking intelligent shit)?

Scary shit on your trail (few steps away) and you can't escape quick enough:

  • STAY STILL and CONTROL BREATHING (of course you still need to hide from its field of vision).
  • SMELL SMELL SMELL - pour kerosene on yourself if reachable, eg under a car. (Mental note to self: learn how to identify petrol tube.)
  • Also, need to learn how to bring a 20 year old car to life wtf. (Ok this one nonsense lol but it was what they did in the movie lol.)

When warning issued, do NOT head to the place mentioned but return to your own hotel. HOTEL. (If visiting a park like that.) Why did no one in the movie think of the hotel?

But if dinosaurs come back alive (anything is possible in today's world, even Malaysia which was thought to be the place safe from quakes etc now have quakes though in the eastern side...) I guess we would still be running crazy. Ugh. But staying in the city would probably be so much better than going up to places like Batu Feringghi. How to hide there?! Got hotels and beaches and winding roads only???

Last one was something I watched just 2 nights ago hahaha. Guess what?

MINIONS!!!

It taught me just one thing: to survive, have hope.

If you have no hope, or feel no hope, then you won't be able to survive long. Cause your brain will try to shut you down making you feel hopeless and then you'll want to die.

Let's be like the minions! Travel all the way to London lololol.

Life is such. Survival and hope - 2 sides of a coin. Good luck everyone.

Being thankful post-resignation

2 years ago today was the first day I stepped into Dorothy Perkins (not as a customer lol) as a newly recruited staff.

Time flies it's already been 2 years since that day haha and I'm obviously no longer working there.

Well thank you for hiring me, for giving me a chance to experience real experience (DP being one of the high street brands of UK) of being a part time coordinator. I had seen different types of customers/people while working there, handling them and socializing with them. There were the good ones and the bad ones. Trained my patience while dealing with them too lol.

Actually I think I learned quite many things while working there. Among all:

  • increased socializing skills (though I'll only use it when necessary me being the anti-social me);
  • able to recognise clothing materials better than any person now working there (except for the supervisor/manager of course);
  • UK companies' marketing/products allocation methods;
  • what do the people in the higher level do most of the time (note to self: MUSN'T be like that myself if I ever get into the higher level of offices);
  • how to come out with points for reports (weekly and monthly lol)

So far, I can only think of these cos they're the more important ones I think, those that I could relate to while working. So yeah.

Visiting the shops nowadays as a customer/ex-staff is quite fun. Cos I now know the people working there and I'm able to ask for things easier without them giving me the weird face hahaha. And also because I understand well how they work too. :D

Yup, definitely a good thing that I brought up all my courage to ask for a job 2 years ago. Hahahaha.

Toodles!

Road trip & hauls

Road trip to Ipoh and Cameron Highlands, 17 June 2015
Before our exams even started Ivy and I were already excited about post-exams plans. =_____= That was during revision. Hahaha. Decided to visit Ipoh and Cameron Highlands since other places are either expensive or far away. Lol.

Fei decided on the date last month and since then Ivy was always excited. Lol.

Woke up mad early on Wednesday lor. T_____T Got up at 4am okay. Cos Fei wanted to start the journey at 5.30am. =_____= The reason he gave was to avoid traffic jams wtf. No cars at all ok jam what. =_____=

We reached Ipoh at around 7.45am. :D

Sorry that's my phone's reflection hahahaha.

Fei and Ivy were laughing at me thinking I didn't get the photo. HAHAHA. WHAT IS THIS HUH?

Headed to Ming Court straight! It's dimsum time!!

Ipoh station 1: Ming Court
Air conditioned, good food and not as exaggerating as Fohsan. Simple and classic!

After our breakfast we had a brainstorm session in the restaurant itself cos it was only 8.30am and no one knew where to go cos it was so early and no other places were opened. =_____= Decided on Kek Lok Tong in the end, a temple and stalactites cave with a beautiful garden at the back.

Ipoh station 2: Kek Lok Tong
Thank god for the good weather. Free entrance, opens at 8am and gate closes at 6pm daily.

These mini sculptures are placed at the front of the entrance of the cave! So awesome.

The stalactites. :D And yes they do actually drip water!! :OO

Birds waking up flying around in and out the cave lol.

Towards the end of the cave.

Ipoh, home of the limestone.

Zen Garden!

Risked our lives taking this picture. Hi geese sekalian.

Along the track you will see these sculptures.

I think that morning we were like the only youngsters there. Hahaha. Besides us were uncles and aunties that were there for morning jog or exercise. We were the only ones snapping photos hahaha.

Left at 9.30am and Fei said maybe we should see if Funny Mountain's opened. But they start their business at 10am? :/ Fei went on anyway. =_____= But by the time we reached there it was already 9.45am and they were opened. :D

Ipoh station 3: Funny Mountain Soya
Opens everyday (I think) from 10am onwards till they finished selling.

Ivy and I were acting sampat sigh.

Conversation between Fei and I:
Me: Okay ma RM1.20 nia 1 bowl.
Fei: *whispers* VERY SMALL BOWL ONLY ONE.
Me: *?!!?!* Really???

So I made the order and waited. And true enough, so mini. =_____=

Then Ivy said "huh so small only! I can eat all 3 bowls (our 3 bowls) lo!" LOLOL. Walao I turned away so fast cos I was so afraid the sellers heard her HAHAHAHA. Paise okay!

But it was really good la, really smooth and soft.

Finished our soya and went up the car to brainstorm where else to go. =_____= We were like having an impromptu trip instead of planning properly wtf.

Ivy then asked why not just go up to Cameron Highlands lo. But then I was worried the weather would be bad up there that day. So I went to google 'Cameron Highlands weather' and the weather report actually came up lo. (Fei and Ivy said IMPOSSIBLE to check hmph I proved them wrong again!) So we decided in the end to go up. It was a never ending trip spiraling around the steep slope.

Finally reached Cameron Highlands at 11.50am. This time I couldn't get the picture of the words 'Cameron Highlands' cos I reacted too slow and my phone didn't wanna respond. T_____T

Cameron Highlands station 1: Cactus Point
No entrance fees! The cacti there all are so cute okayyyy!!

Especially these!!! WHY SO CUTE ONE?!?! Got bunny ears some more!!

They sell orchids too!

By the way there were orchids (spotted by Fei while driving) (according to Ivy they're wild) growing along the winding road up to Cameron lo!

Cameron Highlands station 2: Rose Centre
Entrance fee is RM5 each adult and RM3 each child (I think).

But that RM5 is worth it! So many things to see!

So nais right all the flowers! Visitors are not allowed to pick the flowers though, if they do, it'll be RM50 fine for each flower lol.

I made Fei's legs look so long hahahaha. Even Wen said this photo has the feel okay.

Even the stairs that lead us up to the peak were nicely painted!

And here we are! Hahaha.

Cameron from the peak of Rose Centre.

Actually there was another super high peak that we didn't bother hiking up. Plus it seemed quite scary to me to go all the way up there. :S

The peak is further up, where the chinese words board were. So no thanks. Not going up. Lol.

Then we researched which strawberry farm to go because most of them seemed to be closed. =_____= Found Big Red Strawberry Farm in the end and off we go!

Cameron Highlands station 3: Big Red Strawberry Farm
No entrance fees, self-pick strawberries available at RM50 per kg or RM25 per half kg.

Ivy and I shared a basket ie RM50 per kg.

Us happy with our self-pick strawberries lolol.

Then Ivy being the usual Miss tam chiak wanted to try ALL things available on the menu in the cafe in the farm. =_____= Of course I stopped her.

All Ivy's except for that waffle which was shared by Fei and I.

Scones and tea @ RM9.90; waffles @ RM6.90 and fried ice cream @ RM4.90.

Headed to Lavender farm after that, which was also our last stop!

Cameron Highlands station 4: Cameron Lavender Farm
Entrance fees of RM6 each adult, can't remember how much is it for children lol. Totally wasted my money there.

First, it's full of chicken shit smell cos most of their lavenders were dead I think and they had to plant new ones and dumped chicken shit as natural fertilizer on the fucking soil ARGH KILL ME PLEASE.

Second, as mentioned above, most of their lavenders were gone, there were only 1 small patch in the front with grown lavenders.

Third, there were really nothing much to see.

Fourth, went up to their so-called 'view point' and when we were there there were NOTHING visible from that point. 'nuff said.

These 2 pictures were from the 2nd level. Nothing much at all.

I find these balls with Totoro inside very cute hahaha. Took 3 actually. Also nearly died taking this photos cos the chicken shit smell was so fucking overwhelming.

THIS. THIS IS THE WORST. RM5.50 for an ice cream like that? I expected much more okay. WTF?

Obviously the ice cream half killed Ivy lol. Didn't kill me but I'll never ever eat it again.

Here's the obligatory lavender photo because I paid RM6 for entrance fee. =_____= See, at the back there were only greens and not purple!!

Cheat my feelings one. Don't wanna go back to this place ever again. HMPH!

Balik kampung after we left this chicken shit smell place.

Reached Penang at 6pm+ but we were stuck in the fucking industrial jam at Bayan Lepas. God saves our souls please. Then Ivy and I were making fun of other drivers stressing in the car hahahaha. And there was this uncle on a big truck that kept looking at us wtf. Cannot laugh is it now?? Crime ah? Against the law ah?

Look at the damn jam. =_____=

But overall we certainly did have fun hehe! :D

#timespentwithfeiandkoala #roadtrip #happygirl

Shopping hauls, 18 June 2015!
Sao Monkey told me last Saturday that ESS starts on Thursday! Marked my calendar and told mum must go fight with people on Thursday lolol.

Sadly nothing in Topshop/DP caught my eyes sigh.

BUT the top in Miss Selfridge that I wanted since before CNY was on sale already!!! Actually when SM told me there'll be sale my instincts were already telling me my top is going to be marked down and I knew it's going to be on 50% sale. But I didn't wanna fall down hard in case it only goes down on 30% LOL so I convinced myself not to be so overly excited. Hahahaha.

Dug through the clothes and didn't see my top at first. Panicked wtf looked around the shop while mum was chatting with Steven wtf. She didn't help me at all!! Hmph. Went back to the 50% section for the 2nd time and finally found it by recognising its sleeves!! Mad happy ok!

Also went in to MNG to kepo at the Mickey and Minnie tees that caught my eyes on Tuesday when I was there with Ivy. Hehehe it was RM49 on Tuesday and yesterday it was only RM34!!

Embellishments on my MS top hehehe so subtle and simple and not attention seeking. Mad love!

Then Wen and Fei came up for dinner hehe! Wen bought me an owl ring!! :*

Fat fingerz. :[

Fei bought us all taufufah hahaha okay la quite nice also, quite smooth!

Didn't get any photos of our dinner or taufufah cos everyone was busy eating already. =_____=

Happy trip followed by happy day makes a happy girl! :D

#happygirl #hauls

And later I'm going to watch Minions! HEHEHE. 3 consecutive happy days!

Toodles!!
