Melaka road trip

On last 24th we were in Melaka, staying over night so that Fei gets enough rest to drive.

Not too keen on writing right nao but Fei has been bugging me the past few days to write about our trip zzz. He wants a 'report' on our trip. Wtf. HATE YOU FEI.

Anyway last month Fei spontaneously went on to Airbnb to search for places for our overnight stay cos hotel wouldn't be a viable choice for the 3 of us. (That was before Daisy wanted to join us.) He found 3 places and chose M Lodge in the end. And paid straightaway. =____= So that was how our road trip planning started.

Woke up at 4am again. T_____T Because Fei very stupid always wanna start our trip at 5.30am wtf you say crazy or not. We started our journey on the highway at around 6am I think. And reached Sungai Buloh R&R Station at 9.28am (just checked my Swarm lol). Fast right! BD Went down the car to go to the toilet and walked around the station. No one wanted to eat so we went back to the car after peeing. Lol. And there's this big ass fan (pun intended, you'll know why after you see the following photo) on the ceiling to provide us moving air instead of dead air.

Get what I mean now? Lololol. And my skills so good leh. One shot and I got the words on the fan already hahaha.

Continued on with our journey. Took us around 2 hours after this station to reach. While on the way...

No idea where's this Nilai Impian. Simply took a photo to mark down the progress of our journey hahaha.

Then there was this asshole bus driver that pissed me off lo!

Purposely took a photo of its plate. So unethical the driver!! I hate it when people speed when they're not supposed to, especially when the road is busy with many more cars around. Somemore this asshole was driving a PUBLIC transport ok!! (No passengers luckily.) This asshole was initially behind us (Fei's car) and he came up so close to Fei's car cos he wanted to overtake us. Fei was already driving 110km/h wtf!! Freaked out when I saw he's like just a few inches away from Fei's butt. What the fuck was this asshole thinking? Over-confident assholes are the most annoying.

After that he overtook us and sped lo of course. And went disappear after taking a turn. HMPH!

What's Seremban 2? Are we gon have Penang 2?

By 11.16am we already reached Ayer Keroh's toll plaza! Which meant we're in Melaka already hehehe. Reached M Lodge at around 11.30am and rested at home till 1pm.

Okay la, the place is not bad with 3 rooms. Quite comfy and cozy. Get to spend time watching Astro with Fei hahaha. Pictures of the place are available in the link above lol.

But what I don't like is:

  • Common toilet out of my way, next to the kitchen. Need to take detour. Not very convenient if you forgot to take your clothes with you lol.
  • Dryard has windows with lock, BUT only half of it wtf? The other half of the dryard was left open like that, and the door that leads to the dryard can only be locked just using the doorknob lock. No extra lock provided. Even though it's on the 2nd floor (people probably won't bother climbing up) there's a possibility that people might climb up if they want ok.
  • No dressing table in rooms, not even a small one! What????

Me all ready and Fei not having the need to get ready cos he's a guy. Us while waiting for Ivy and Daisy. They took so long and when I went to peep they were curling their hair. =_____=

First stop: Jonker Street

Because 80% of the good food are located here ma!

(1) Chicken Rice Balls
Not impressed with this Melaka's famous must-try. I personally think it's just normal. Plus it's fucking expensive.

We initially wanted to try the classic kopitiam stall one, but the queue was so fucking long under the scorching sun omg. So we tried Hoe Kee's instead.

Queue wasn't as long, but super crowded inside. Fully booked. We had to wait. And when it was our turn, we were served styrofoam plates instead of the green plastic ones as seen in the photo above. We waited for around half an hour before our order were served. I don't understand. It's just rice and chicken. 1 person gets the rice, 1 person gets the rice balls, another person chops the chicken. Really that difficult? Of course it's not easy, of course I wouldn't be able to do it. But they're all already used to it aren't they? Why so long??

There. Our order for 4. Just chicken and rice. No vege no fish no assam. As you can see, it's very oily even though it tasted quite good. Chicken rice ball tasted just so-so. I still prefer our Penang Hainan chicken rice. Tastes better definitely.

RM43.50 for a meal like this, including 6% GST and 3 bottles of soya bean drink and a cup of chinese tea. RIDICULOUS!

The set for 4 alone is RM34 as listed on the menu that was stuck on the wall. RIDICULOUS!! 80% of the chicken were BONES. Tsk. Dislike!

(2) Mamee House
Didn't try the food there cos we went right after our chicken rice lunch. Lol. So fucking full. I finished most of the rice ok. =_____=

But I got a photo!

Mamee Monster!! So cute but so expensive lol so I didn't even think of getting 1.

(3) Melaka's famous Chendol Gula Melaka
Tried it from the world famous Jonker 88. Not impressed with it either. The gula Melaka was too thick. So difficult ah and it was so sweet I wanna die. Still prefer Penang's! (Lolol maybe I'm just biased lolol.)

RM4 each bowl excluding GST.

(4) Whole stretch of Jonker Street
We didn't finish walking the whole thing cos it was scorching hot in the noon zzz. We did visit a few craft shops and I was attracted by the traditional rooster bowls. But decided to get it in the evening when we're back for the night market.

(5) San Shu Gong (or Sam Suk Gong)
Went into this place before we left Jonker in the noon. Heaven leh this place after walking along the Jonker Street in the noon! Cos got air cond LOL. Bought 2 bottles of lime essence with liquorice cos mummy wants it. They also sell all sorts of biscuits and snacks. Fei bought 2 mini dodols. I spotted them one!

Second stop: Christ Church

Went inside and it's quite pretty inside actually. Churches are all that pretty one is it? And as you can see, stalls selling souvenirs all around lol.

Third stop: A Famosa Portuguese Fortress
No photos la ok. Didn't know how to get a photo also. Humans everywhere and it's so huge. I didn't wanna take just a part of it so no photos. You can google pictures of it lol.

I threw coins into the wishing well! Gave Fei a coin to throw in too. Not really a wishing well I think. I heard people saying it was a tomb? I dunno la. Just throw in a coin for blessings lor.

Also bought the souvenir keychains here. There are actually souvenir stalls in A Famosa hahaha.

From the first to third stop we actually WALKED on our feet okay. T_____T So fucking scorching hot!! Everytime my feet were exposed to the sun it felt like my feet were burning in fire. T_____T

Got another 2 photos cos kia su. Walked so much liao must take photos.

colourful walls on the opposite were the main point actually.

Menara Taming Sari taken when we were on our way climbing up to A Famosa.

Then we finally decided to escape to Mahkota Parade for Nadeje! :D

Fourth stop: Mahkota Parade
All hail the inventor that invented air conditioner!!

We went around the mall (ground floor only lol) to look for Nadeje but couldn't find it. Went on Foursquare to look for the unit number but then cannot find one!!! In the end we only found it when Fei said we should try to look outside. =_____=

Here comes Nadeje mille crepe shop! Luckily we didn't have queue ah thank god. Cos Fei and Ivy said they're always fully booked and earlier when Fei's friend visited he waited for 1 hour plus wtf.

Sorry hor too lazy to transfer my VSCO processed photos to computer so all photos you guys are looking at are actually original photos hahaha. Just like the crepe flavour we ordered, original. *lame*

Didn't impress me that much but it's nice. RM11.90 each. No idea how much it is for other flavours. Actually I wanted to try the rum & raisins but then I was afraid I'd be too full and cannot eat other food if we come across them. T_____T

We sat for a while, enjoying the air cond and our plain water. After walking through Jonker Street and the climb up A Famosa, NOTHING tastes better than iced plain water. T_____T

Then I suddenly remembered we haven't tried the damn world famous satay-celup. And annoyed and bugged Fei for it la of course. So we went to research on Foursquare again. Opens at 5pm! By the time we finished our cake and were sipping on our drink it was 4.45pm. So faster finish up everything and off we went.

Fifth stop: Satay Celup
Drove past and saw the queue was so fucking long wtf. Dropped Ivy and Daisy to queue while Fei and I went to search for parking lot. When we were done, Ivy and Daisy already got us a table. We had to sit at the very entrance, where every fucking one queued and they were watching us eat and dip. =_____=

My quail egg actually disappeared lo. T____T But then after 15 minutes 1 floated up. Another 15 minutes another one came up. Hehe!

For everything in the pot and on the table, with 4 cups of barley drink, it costed us RM48.90 wtf. Why everything in Melaka so expensive one?! Tsk. I didn't really like it. I prefer our Penang lok lok. Just cook with boiling hot water, then dipped into the sauce you want. This one no sauce choices one.

Sixth stop: back to Jonker
Night market!

On the way walking to Jonker Walk from our car park place, there's this hotel with calligraphy on its wall! So chio!

So nice right. No idea how do people write so nicely with the damn calligraphy brush.

Jonker Walk is just like our regular pasar malam(s) lol. All the food and the stalls... BUT Jonker's stalls sell things very expensive one I tell you!!

Fei and I were attracted by this char koay kak stall and I told Fei we buy when on the way back la. Then on our way back Fei saw the price and both of us went wtf. RM4 without egg. Wtf. Our Friday pasar malam sells it only RM3.50 for large one with egg somemore la! Tsk!

But there's this stall operated by a lady selling little teddy bears so cute!

They obviously attracted Ivy and Daisy's attention lololol. So they went to choose. I was picking around also and suddenly Daisy asked me to choose 1 cos she wanna buy me. So paise leh. So I said no lolol. But Ivy and her still took the Pooh one for me. =____= Thank you ah. :D

After that we wanted to look for Daily Fix Cafe cos Ivy was having minor gastric attack liao plus we didn't get to try in the noon. But found another place instead. Cos we couldn't find Daily Fix and I went on Foursquare again to check its operating hours. Until 6pm only. :(

So we went into Geographer Cafe.

Actually we only ordered 2 cups of drinks la cos we were more thirsty than hungry lol. Their lime juice is super good!!

After a while we went off again, strolling along Jonker.

This place obviously attracted my attention. But cheated on my feelings.

It was just a very small place with nothing much to see. =_____= Just the colorful tents and tables and tanglungs above. =_____=

We left Jonker at around 7.45pm and went home. Didn't buy anything cos everything was so expensive. =____= And eveything I can get and eat in Penang one so never mind. Lol.

On the way walking back to Fei's car the riverside was so pretty! Cos all lights were turned on and all were reflected on the river's surface!

So beautiful right! Hehehe cincai take also can get a nice photo one with beautiful scenery like this!

Went home, talked on the phone with mummy for a while, did my accounts (counting each person's expenses =_____=) cos no one wanted to do it, and went to take my shower! So nice lor finally got to shower after a loooooong day. When I was done Ivy and Daisy were no where to be seen lol asked Fei where are they he said they're in their room. Okay lor. Watched Captain America with Fei. =____=

our bears!

Then suddenly Ivy and Daisy came out, Daisy changed into casual clothing and Ivy said she's hungry and everyone (except me) was so excited cos they wanna go to the 7-11 opposite wtf. In the end all 4 of us went and we were so kacau sigh. I think the 7-11 guy see us also scared wth. Somemore the damn door kept making noise argh.

And here's my supper. Lol. Ice cream.

Ivy and Daisy shared 2 boxes of rice and Fei had cup noodles. =_____=

Then went to sleep after Captain America ends. Zzzzz.

The next morning I woke up at 7am and woke Fei. :D We then went to Charlie Baba's after checking out.

Last stop: Charlie Baba Nyonya Cakes
We checked the night before on Foursquare that it opens at 10am.

So by 9.45am we were already there. Lololol. Kia su level Asian ok hahahaha.

At 10am I was told not all kuihs were out yet, just the ones in the room. Then I was asked to wait till around 10.30am. So we went back to Fei's car to wait. Then suddenly at 10.10am so many people coming in wtf! Ivy and I damn kiasu faster run down. LOL. Okay la I was faster cos I walked like a soldier marching lol.

Still no ondeh-ondeh sigh mummy's favourite leh why don't have! If they wanna open at 10am, then they should make sure they have most of the things available by 10am, and not by asking us to visit later wtf. Yes that's what the cashier told me, "Maybe next time you can come later lor." WHUT? We come from Penang okay. Plus they're only opened from 10am-4pm. Confirm sell finish la if we go later. SAD. So no ondeh-ondeh. Sigh.

And then we were on our way back to our little Penang!

Stopped by Sungai Buloh R&R again. Had lunch there this time. KFC. Very bad service by the staffs, giving faces and all. Dislike!

Highway as seen from the overhead bridge KFC. Hehehe. I know I jobless but how often can one does this!

Then at 2pm+ Fei asked if we wanna visit Taiping Zoo. zzz hate lo! But still went in the end.

We reached the zoo at 4pm and it was drizzling when we were on the tram. RM17 for adults! T____T so expensive okay! And also very smelly especially the cows wtf. Damn cow dungs.

hello giraffe! :D

Went home straight after zoo. And that's all of our trip to Malacca. Like so not fun one. Lol.

Expenses are as follows:
Petrol: RM135 total. (2014 Honda City)
Food: RM152.65
Carpark: RM10
Toll: RM125.80 (back & fro)
Zoo: RM68
Airbnb: RM320

Shared by 4 people, so it's around RM202.86 on average. Not that bad, since Fei and I can't afford to travel overseas yet lol. At least we get to travel within our country, across states border. :D

Oh ya the rooster bowls I bought...

Sorry ah blur picture. Took them in the car hahaha. Bought mummy XL size one. These 2 were for Wen's mummy! Glad that aunty loves it. :D

Till then, bye bye!

Happy with my report? >:(

My accidental mermaid hair

I tweeted this tweet earlier, just a few hours ago.

Any idea why? Hahahaha it's so obvious right. HAIR!

Why is it that my hair is making me so happy?

HOW TO NOT BE HAPPY WHEN MY HAIR IS SO FUCKING PRETTY???????????

Looks like mermaid hair right!!! Ok in case you don't know what's mermaid hair (directing this at Fei) I purposely went to google so that you understand.

Ok la my hair colour is not that bright compared to the true mermaid hair BUT got similarities right!!!

Anyway, it's supposed to be PURE purple. LOL.

like this.

So I don't really know how did the purple turn out to have green, turquoise & blue in it. Lol. And then accidentally resulted in my mermaid hair!!! Which then made me like fucking happy. Still on cloud 9 right now after 6 hours. Hahahahaha.

My hair was done by Gino in Sun Young Prima Tanjung. Costed me a heavy RM340 in total. But then I used mummy's birthday 20% discount and it came down to RM272.

A lot of people would think I'm wasting a big fat sum of money on just a small part of my hair (the ends) I assume. But I'd prefer to spend RM300 on something that makes me stand out and happy rather than on something that makes me look the same as everyone else lol. (In other words, ordinary.)

I spent nearly RM300 on just my hair ends. But I have nice colours on them. I could also spend RM300 on my whole head. But then obviously the colour would be just ordinary colours - brown and/or similar. So I'd rather make myself happy with the same amount of money spent.

I'll need to hope hard that the colours won't fade into my bleached hair colour in these coming 2 weeks. Really like them that way sigh. Do I have special hair or what? LOL. Imagine purple colour giving birth to green and turquoise. Blue is logical. But green and turquoise? Whut?

Anyway, comparing the results this time to the previous time's, I'm so much happier with this. BD

Dyed pink the previous time (February) and it faded into some sort of light coral colour. =_____= I had been wondering all these while how did the dark pink end up fading into that colour. Gino finally told the truth last week when bro went for his hair cut. He mixed colour for me wtf. I felt so cheated. =_____=

But never mind, I still like my present hair better! I think it suits my style more. This mermaid-hair clone is not ordinary, but neither is it attention seeking. Subtle and down-to-earth. I like it like that. In fact I love it. :D

Prem likes it too apparently.

Hahahaha. Thank you everybodeh!

My home country

I'm supposed to be watching the China drama, Empress of China right now instead of hitting furiously on my keyboard on my computer right now. Just came home and had my super early dinner. Back from fetching bro to his orthodontic treatment. I was waiting for him in the car doing nothing, scrolling through my Facebook feeds.

And suddenly I came across this article that was shared by 4 of my friends with captions.

So obviously I clicked on it and read the article. I didn't finish it. I was halfway through when I started fuming. =_= I glanced through till the end and read the comments that people left.

At least the comments made me happy. There are still people who are willing to defend our country.
(Note: not the system.)

So while fuming I also shared the article with captions.

Because no matter how much I'm always feeling pissed at how our country's system works, I'll always be a Malaysian. I grew up here, I finished my education here, I start my career here. Of course I'm not turning into an expert all of a sudden. I have never taken any like or interest in politics and neither will I now.

But there is one thing that I do not like about this writer/author. What rights does he have to criticize on Malaysians like that? I do not deny that our country's system doesn't work well. I do not deny he did make some good points in his article. But he has no rights to criticize us that badly and also making sweeping statements on all Malaysians.

Points:
"I am a British national and have been based in Malaysia for the last two years with an internationally acclaimed biotechnology company."
Wow so you've been living in Malaysia for the last two years. From these two years' experience you definitely has a lot to say about us. Wow.

British national? British expat? You're just writing from behind a computer on a keyboard, sir. What's the proof? Where's the proof?

"I am boldly saying that throughout all the countries I have visited so far, Malaysia is the worst because it is inhabited by bad politicians and even worse people."
Yes, there are bad politicians in our country. But every fucking country has bad politicians. Bribery happens all around the world, dear Mr. Experienced-from-travelling-across-the-globe.

And saying us, citizens of Malaysia 'even worse people'? Do you even fucking know EVERY citizen in Malaysia? Just because people that you come to know or socialize with are noobs doesn't mean everyone else that you DON'T know are noobs.

"World champion keyboard warriors"
Now you're saying Malaysians are keyboard warriors. Aren't you now by criticising on us through this article behind the computer?

"My contract in this country is at its tail-end. I had the option of extending my stay that I have gladly declined. Malaysians are too shallow-minded to fix anything. Instead of speaking on ways to solve the current crisis, Malaysians are only interested in clicking the delete button and hope a reboot will bring improvement. Keep on hoping, Malaysia."

Thank you for your words of encouragement.

"Malaysians have been awarded as the worst drivers in the world."

I went to Google 'the worst drivers in the world' and the results gave me this. No Malaysia. 'nuff said.

What I have to say:
Of course I'm no expert. I'm just a student who just finished my final year exam. I'm just a student who's waiting for my results to come out and give me heart attack.

But I will always have a bit of faith and hope in my home country.

Because when the people themselves hold no faith and hope in their country, that's when the country itself will fail.

And to friends that agree(d) 100% with this article, I have nothing to say. Everyone has their freedom to believe in whatever they want to believe in. But bear in mind, we all finished our education in this country, at least up to high school.

For you all whose parents could afford to send you out of Malaysia to overseas to continue your studies, to complete your degree or even masters studies, good for you.

For you all whose parents could not afford to send you out to the overseas, fret not, we still managed to complete our degree studies in our home country, didn't we?

For you all whose parents COULD afford to send you out to the overseas and YOU yourself CHOSE NOT to leave Malaysia to overseas to study due to some personal reasons (homesick/boyfriend etc), shut the fuck up and swallow up all your complaints. You had a choice and you chose to forgo it. Suck it up. Stop complaining. You chose to finish your degree studies in Malaysia. No one forced you, there's no undue influence or duress. Had you jumped on the chance to go overseas to study, you probably wouldn't have to stay in Malaysia, complaining about your country everyday. You probably could just stay overseas and start working there after finishing your education, getting your visas etc.

Yah. Actually what I have to say are mostly for people that keep complaining (non stop) about our country when they had the chance to just leave and they chose not to.

Okay finally I feel better. Off to watch my Chinese drama now.

Bye.

Mummy's Birthday

Happy 53rd birthday mummy.
Thank you for always trying your best to make our lives easier and more comfortable.
Thank you for sacrificing so much for us to give us better lives.
I don't want to think of the days in the future where you won't be there.

Making your own berry fruity yogurt in 3 simple steps

For a noob/beginner like me, obviously I'm not talking about making my own yogurt from scratch. Hahahaha. :D Plus is it even possible to make it at home? :O

Okay I just googled and found that yes it's possible. But I definitely won't waste my time making yogurt from scratch when I can just get all sorts of brands and sizes from Tesco. :3

What you need:
Yogurt (obviously), berries (straw/black/blue/rasp) or other fruits you wanna mix into your yogurt.

ingredients!

Make sure to choose the right flavour of yogurt! Best to choose original/vanilla flavour if you wanna mix in all sorts of fruits. :D If you wanna just put in berries, you may also choose strawberry flavour I think. But I still prefer the original flavour with just 2 types of berries. :D

Yoplait yogurt from Australia!

Driscoll's strawberries from California! :D

Naturipe's blueberries from California also!

Chose the best ones cos they're actually for mummy's birthday hehehe. A bit difficult lo can't bake her cake cos no oven, can't make non-bake cheesecake for her cos she doesn't take cheese/butter, can't make her crepe cake cos didn't find recipes and I didn't want to make it in the rush...... So I actually decided on using ice cream to make her ice cream cake BUT guess what there wasn't even ONE tub of ice cream in their fridge WTF? So got yogurt in the end. =______=

big and fat strawberries!

Directions
Step 1: Open up the lid of the yogurt tub.

Step 2: Wash the fruits & cut them into small pieces (or desired chunk size), then mix into the yogurt.

Step 3: Use a spoon to fold them inside.

And you're DONE! Yes that's all, as simple as that. Hahahahahaha this doesn't even deserve to be a tutorial. LOL.

And because this was supposed to be a cake, I took another extra step.

Step 4: Cut strawberries into love shapes.

All done! Hehehe I'm so creative! Okay lol I know this is fucking simple and anyone could've done it. But still proud of myself. Hahahahaha.

Babai!

P/S: I'm so awesome. Hahahahaha.
