What to do with your melty lipsticks~

Have you ever purchased super creamy lipsticks? And did you bring it everywhere with you in your handbag wherever you go? If you have and you did, are you wondering what problem did I face with my creamy lipsticks, or you already knew what I'm going to say? Hahahaha.

Yes, I brought my lipsticks everywhere with me in my bag. =_____= I never put my bag under the sun, but I guess our weather is just too humid if not hot. Therefore my lipsticks decided to melt on me. ... 2 of them were the Sephora Rouge Lipsticks and 1 of them was the 3CE Creamy Lip Color.

Nope I wasn't happy nor impressed that they were melting. They're not cheap!!!! At the time I bought them which was in 2013, the Sephora ones costed RM45 each and the 3CE RM65. =_____= Ever since they turned melty I've learnt my lesson not to get creamy lipsticks anymore. Lol.

When they first started turning melty I thought maybe they'll recover and return to its original state if I leave it at home in mummy's room which is always cool. NO THEY CONTINUED MELTING. I stopped using them lol. How is it convenient to use melty lipsticks??? Plus I didn't have any lip brush with me lol and didn't think of buying 1 also.

Then I started Googling for solutions. Many came up.

The problem was, my lipsticks were melty, not melted. Google didn't quite get that. And I didn't know how to tell Google lol.

Results that came up mostly teach people how to reattach broken lipsticks to its tube by using a lighter. I even found a video teaching people how to transfer lipstick to a tube that you think is pretty/too sentimental a value to throw away wtf. Not useful to me la to be honest.

Actually I also saw another suggested solution, which is to put your lipsticks in the freezer. I did exactly that and the lipsticks seemed to recover so I was happy la! But no it melted after it defrost. =_____=

Then when I switched to video search I finally saw it: "how to save space, melt your lipsticks" and "lipstick de-potting"! Ok la at this point I didn't even need to actually watch the video lol I just knew what I should do.

But if you want to watch the videos. you can just Google them la. Or watch this video by Wayne Goss.

The next few days when I went out I went to Daiso to look for little mini pots! :D I just wanted to implement my ideas and wasn't sure if it'd work so I didn't wanna spend a lot on getting the little pots. RM5.30 for 3 little mini pots is ok enough for me lol.

Came home and excitedly started washing the pots with antibacterial soap (you don't want your melted lipsticks to sit in a pot of microbac lol and then put it on your lips and eat it down when you eat...)

Sorry no pics cos I didn't think of writing about this actually. Hahahaha now that I'm super super bored I just proceed to write a post of whatever I can think of hahahaha.

I didn't use any special tool la just things you'd usually find at home lol. I only used toothpicks and tissues lol. Toothpick to just cut through the lipstick still attached to the tube to the mini pot, and to dig out the remaining lipstick in the tube, and then just stir the melty lipstick with your toothpick and you get your melted lipstick in a pot! Tissue to clean up any mess you made obviously lol.

tadah!!

3CE Creamy Lip Color in #Joyce.

Sephora Rouge.

And my melty lipsticks are saved! :D And when you want to apply them, you can use either a lip brush or a cotton wool! Or just clean your fingers well and just use your fingers to dab them on your lips if you're lazy. Lol.

Till then, tata people!
