Coloured (circle) lenses

When it comes to coloured lenses, I'm damn kia si (coward) for fear of blinding myself for the rest of my life. ._____.

So the very first time I wanted to try out coloured lenses, I went back to my optometrist with mum and asked for his advice and suggestion. He suggested Freshkon. Mum was particularly worried lolol so she kept asking is it safe etc. He said it's certified and it's an international brand, so alright.

That was how I started off with coloured lenses.

Attaching cropped photos of my eyes hahahaha to show how the coloured lenses turned out okay after putting them on. My original eye colour is dark brown.

Freshkon Colours Fusion Sparklers Shimmering Gray.

Shocked myself to death the first time I wore them because I thought I looked like a freaking alien. =_____= But as I got used to it I thought the lens were very pretty hahahaha.

Since I've already gotten the reassurance for this brand's coloured contacts from my first experience, I went to get other colours of Freshkon coloured contacts from other eye wear shops after that, mostly Focus Point.

Tried on other colours:

Freshkon Colours Fusion Sparklers Glinting Brown.

Bleh I thought I looked like I had a pair of tiger eyes.

Freshkon Colours Fusion Dazzlers Groovy Green

Yes their Groovy Green didn't look scary, it looks a litle greyish in fact.

Freshkon Colours Fusion Dazzlers Misty Grey.

Didn't really like this series' grey cos it made me look a bit tired I think. D:

Freshkon Colours Fusion Sparklers Blooming Pink.

I thought they looked pinkish since they're pink lens anyway. But then everyone else kept asking me what type of brown is that. =_____= First picture is under natural lighting while 2nd is with flash on.

Freshkon Colours Fusion Dazzlers Warm Hazel.

I like this colour personally but Nana said it made me look tired. Lolol I think it's because of that inner light coloured ring. Same like Misty Grey's. They're from the same series anyway lolol. But Misty Grey is worse than Warm Hazel in my personal opinion.

I also tried the Freshkon Mosaic's Charming Brown in the last few months and I didn't selfie as much hahahaha so no clear picture of how it looks like even though I do have 1 or 2 pictures wearing it. But I didn't really like it.

I've also tried before Freshkon Alluring Eyes series:

Freshkon Alluring Eyes Magnetic Grey.

Darker grey compared to the others I've tried, and they look much more natural. Suitable for all sorts of occasions.

Freshkon Alluring Eyes Winsome Brown.

This colour is the closest one to my original eye colour, it's as if I didn't wear any coloured contacts hahahaha. No one ever noticed that I was wearing them when I was wearing them LOL. Unless you look closely to my eyes!

So I really do like this brown.

BUT sometimes these Freshkon lenses are quite uncomfortable, as in, you'll feel that there's something in your eyes - the presence of the contacts. It's probably because of the dryness of my eyes. I'm not sure if anyone out there has the same problem or not.

THEN, one fine day last year, Grace got a flyer from MOG saying they're having sale, and lenses were on buy 2 free 1 promotion. =_____= So she gathered me and Saara and we went to ask about the lenses. Lenses on promotion were Maxim Contacts, we sure haven't heard of this brand before. D: So we asked and asked and found out it's a Korean brand. And it's fucking expensive, even more expensive than Freshkon's. RM60 for a pair. But since they're on promotion and the 3 of us are sharing, it'd be only RM40 per pair. Fine. I chose their Big Colors Eyes Gray. Despite the name of the series 'Big' it's not big lol. Didn't enlarge or anything. But that's fine, I don't really like big dolly eyed lens cos I know I'll look weird putting them on lolol.

Maxim Big Colors Eyes Gray.

But then they're really comfy to my surprise. Comfy to the level that you don't feel them when you're wearing them, unlike Freshkon's.

So after my Maxim, I went on to search for other brands. Actually I wanted to look for lens that will make my eyes look crystalline hahahaha. :$ And I found!! I found Geo Magic on Glasses Online. Then I started my research. That was during revision last year. Lolol see instead of studying I do other things that were unimportant. Zzzzz.

I was damn kia si because I've never seen any shops selling Geo Magic. They're only available online - which increases the risk of getting fake lens if you don't get them from properly certified or authorized sellers. T__________T But I really really like their lens! After putting them on you get crystalline eyes!! (According to the Google images that I got from my search results.) Hence the deeper research. =______= If only I'm that good in studying.

Then I found a few useful links:
Geo Magic authenticity & safety guidelines
Geo Coloured Lens authenticity seals
Geo Anti-fake

I felt much more secured after knowing that I could actually check it online! So I went back to Glasses Online and read their FAQs. Hahahaha really damn kia si one you see. Read everything and then feeling satisfied that they're probably certified sellers for Geo Magic (took considerable courage to convince myself it's safe to purchase from this site - not the site's problem, but my kia si problem lol), I went on to the next step: choosing the series, colour, and power that I want and drop them into my shopping cart.

In the end I purchased Geo Magic Colour Nudy Series' Brown and Grey after researching how they look like on Google image. Lolol. I have to say I like them! :D :D :D Wanted to try the Violet and Blue as well but I feared that I'd look like some weird shit so I didn't. =_____=

Geo Magic Colour Nudy Series Brown.

Geo Magic Colour Nudy Series Grey.

I have to say at that time I like them the most compared to all previous lenses that I've tried! :D However in my opinion I think Nudy Grey is not much different from Shimmering Grey though. The brown's really nice, a soft shade of brown instead of a strong brown like the Glinting brown. D:

Then I stopped wearing coloured contacts and went back to my normal clear lens.

Until recently. Hiao again and went to research how Geo's Nudy Blue look like. Hahahaha. Obviously I bought a pair on Glasses Online hahaha. Wanted Violet too, but it's not available in my power. :( ONLY plano available. What is this nonsense? Discrimination? HMPH! But I guess it's because not many people want Violet so they didn't dare bring in powers for fear they won't be able to sell them off. =_____=

And since I haven't shown how are the Magic lens packed, here they are:

They come in bottles.

With the anti-fake seals. Scratch them like how you would a lottery ticket, and go on to the Anti-fake website link above to authenticate!

No Korean words. Like what's stated in the authenticity and safety guidelines link above.

Opening the bottles.

FML, took me quite some time to open them. =_____= And like what Xiaxue said (I found her link from the research that I was doing lolol), the bottle will try to maim us when we try to open them. =_____= So be careful with the metal especially the corners! Really sharp as hell.

Tadah! After removing the metal, rubber stopper next.

Normal rubber stopper. Nothing scary don't worry hahaha.

And there's my Nudy Blue! (natural lighting)

It doesn't look really blue on my eyes, probably due to the fact that my eyes are dark brown in colour lolol. Looks a little greyish on my eyes actually. So no more worries! Hahaha now I know I won't look like some weird shit wearing blue lens! :D

Then a few weeks later, which was just last 2 weeks, I found an online shop selling Korean Dueba lens: Polkadotz Lens. Looked through all their pics and found that their customers have really good feedback about their lenses and service! So I was tempted to get a pair for myself to try again fml. That was during my last paper lolol double fml. But I managed to stop myself from messaging them to enquire about the lens. I only Wechat them on the second night after my paper ended hahaha.

And the owner is really nice! So after that I placed my order. =_____= Wanted Vivi Brown, but a few days later which was last Monday, the owner told me it's actually out of stock. T______________T And asked me if I'd like them to replace it with Baby Brown. But her partner mistakenly thought that my order was confirmed and sent out Baby Brown to me already. T__________________________T Okay la nevermind lah didn't wanna give them so much trouble also la cos the owner said she'll try to call the courier and ask them to bring it back. So I told the owner I'll just try Baby Brown first. Sigh.

So I tried it on yesterday. Their lens are really fucking comfortable, even better than Geo's! Wtf. But I thought I looked weird with it on. Sigh. But mum and Fei said that they look okay. Okay. :(

Baby Brown.

By the way, their lenses also come in bottles like Geo Magic's.

The bottles were wrapped in bubble wraps to protect them. :3

Same opening method that will maim your hands lolol.

By the way, I did do some research on Dueba lens before getting them being the kia si me. And according to Uniqso and Lens Village: "Dueba produce and supply to retailers for rebranding. Lenses produced by Dueba are normally labelled under other names." So I guess that's the reason why the bottles are labelled the shop name itself instead of Dueba like Geo Magic.

But since there's no way for me to authenticate whether they're authentic (even though the seller reassured me it's authentic, me being the kia si me is still doubtful D:), I'll just wear them for a maximum of 20 times instead of the usual 30 times that I wear for Freshkon and Geo Magic.

So if you want to try on coloured lenses, you don't have to worry about Freshkon's authenticity if you get them from authorised retailers like Focus Point. If you want to try on Geo Magic, it's also not a problem cos you will be able to check their authenticity by way of the Anti-fake seal. But for others like Dueba, if you wanna try, just make sure you don't wear them exceeding 30 times, or 30 days.

The price for the lenses are available online or in store, so you can actually check them out easily. But for those of you that are lazy, for Geo Magic Nudy series, it's RM32 per pair GST inclusive on Glasses Online. For the Dueba, it's RM25 per pair. As for Freshkon, I think it's now RM50 per pair after GST? I'm not so sure about Freshkon, but different retailers are always having different promotions, so you can check them with the retailers!

Toodles! :3
